The study of new pharmacological properties of the Primula Veris L. vegetative extract

Abstract

Basing on experimental studies on white outbred male rats using CCL4 acute hepatitis model, we have investigated hepatoprotective effects of medic-prophylactic application of the Primula Veris L. dense extract. The extract efficacy was evaluated in accordance with its ability to normalize biochemical indices of the liver functional state. Carsil was used as a control agent. It has been shown that the Primula Veris (medicinal) dense extract produces the same hepatoprotective effects as the control agent. Hepatoprotective activity of the Primula Veris grass dense extract has been detected allowing to extend its application.
